In The Heart of Transylvania

Viscri is at only 12km from here

We had a dream, to establish a guesthouse in the countryside of Transylvania. And, following a happy chain of the hazard, we discovered this old Saxon house, located in one of the most ancient Saxon villages of Transylvania. Our village Crit (Deutsch-Kreuz) is in the middle of everything being surrounded by Viscri, Sighisoara, Saschiz, Rupea and Archita.

 

Meantime, the village greatly preserved the medieval look of the streets and many of the ancient agricultural habits.

The main street is listed as historical monument. Two of the seven medieval fortified churches nominated as UNESCO heritage sites are very close to our guesthouse:

          - the fortified church of Viscri (Deutschweißkirch) - 9km;
          - the evangelical church of Saschiz - 12km;
Another UNESCO site - the medieval town of Sighisoara - only 32km away.
